ADVANCED DIPLOMA I IN GERMAN (B1 Level):

At the Advanced Diploma the student will complete CEFR Level B1.
Level B1: The student
- Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
- Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
- Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Eligibility: S.S.C. / I.C.S.E. / C.B.S.E. i.e. Certificate of having cleared the 10th Standard Examination recognised by this University +
Diploma Programme in German conducted by this or any other University/Institution, which is recognised by this University,
OR,
Clearing the A 2 / Grundstufe II of Max Mueller Bhavans in India or of any Goethe Institute worldwide,
OR,
Clearing the F.Y or S.Y. exam with German as one of the subjects,
OR,
Learning German in school for at least three years and having cleared the respective exam.
Fees:
Tuition fees: Rs. 4,960/- per annum. Registration: Rs. 40/- (Fees subject to change)
Exam fees: Rs. 1260/- (to be paid in December)
Duration: One Academic Year.
Timings:
Saturdays: 2.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. & 5.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m.
Sundays: 9.00 a.m. – 11.00 a.m. & 11.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m. (2 hrs per paper i.e. total 8 hrs)
Exam:

Total 500 marks
Paper I: Advanced Structural Studies of German I (Grammar) – 100 marks
Paper II: Advanced Structural Studies of German II (Writing Skills) – 100 marks
Paper III: Advanced Structural Studies of German III (Reading & Listening Comprehension) – 100 marks
Paper IV: Advanced Structural Study of German IV and Literary texts – 100 marks
Orals: Speaking Skills (50) + Continuous Assessment (50) – 100 marks

External candidates may appear for this exam by paying Rs. 4,000/- and filling up the exam form by 31st January each year.
Standard of Passing: Minimum of 50% in each paper of the written exam and 50% in oral exam separately shall be required for passing.
